A Sandy Springs shopping development started the year with the closure of two of its restaurants.

Sports restaurant Dantanna's and CT Cocina & Taqueria both shuttered recently at Abernathy Square at the corner of Abernathy and Roswell roads, Tomorrow's News Today first reported.

Dantanna's -- which also has locations in Buckhead and in downtown Atlanta at the CNN Center -- served lunch, brunch and dinner with a menu featuring a variety of sandwiches, burgers, seafood and other entrees, as well as offering a full bar. The Sandy Springs location, which opened in 2014, has been removed from the Dantanna's website, and its Facebook page has been removed.

CT Cocina & Taqueria opened at the end of December 2016 and served Mexican dishes includes pork belly taco topped with cruda verde tomatillo salsa and chicharron and tempura snapper tacos and offered a full margarita list with flavors including cucumber and jalapeño as well as traditional varieties.

"The bar, sumptuously stocked, and the dusky lighting that's chillaxing on a Sunday afternoon and sexy after-hours," former AJC food writer Elizabeth Lenhard wrote in a March 2017 review of CT Cocina . "I was delighted. Until — the food."

The AJC has reached out to Retail Planning Corporation, the company that manages Abernathy Square, to find out plans for the vacated spaces.
