Dining out is fun and even better when you can bring your best friend, your best furry friend, that is.

Numerous Atlanta restaurants are dog-friendly , but at a few eateries right now, it's all about the dog.

Doggie Mingle is a new monthly pet-friendly event taking place on the patio at  Hampton + Hudson . The first one will be held June 11 from 3 to 5 p.m.

As your dog gets acquainted with fellow Fidos, you can make some new friends, too. The restaurant will have drink specials and even homemade doggie treats by Hampton + Hudson executive chef and dog lover,  Savannah Sasser . The June doggie mingle will mark the launch of Sasser's doggie treats, which will be available daily thereafter for pet patrons.

The event is free to attend. Proceeds from the sale of featured beverages and doggie treats will benefit Doggies On The Catwalk, an annual fashion fundraiser that pairs celebrities with service dogs from Canine Assistants, a non-profit that provides service dogs to people with speical needs.

In other pet-related dining news, on June 7, sibling restaurants the Southern Gentleman and Gypsy Kitchen will be hosting the Southern Gentleman Pet Soiree. The event, which will take place place on the patios of both Buckhead restaurants will benefit two local no-kills shelters: PAWS Atlanta in Decature and Good Mews in Marietta.

Guest receive a complimentary drink and appetizers. The event will also feature live music, a silent auction and a raffle. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. This is a humans-only event, so leave your furry friends behind.
