An established Decatur brewery is opening a second location next year in mixed-use development Atlanta Dairies.

Set to open summer 2019, the Three Taverns Imaginarium " will be equal parts laboratory, brewery, and tasting room," according to a press release.
"We are thrilled to have Three Taverns Imaginarium join the Atlanta Dairies tenant mix," said Merritt Lancaster, Principal of Paces Properties, which is developing Atlanta Dairies. "As a well-known Georgia brewery and with a successful flagship location in Decatur, Three Taverns has grown to become a prominent Atlanta brand."

Atlanta Dairies, located at 777 Memorial Drive in Reynoldstown, has one of the few open container licenses in the city, which Three Taverns owner Brian Purcell said makes the location ideal for a second Three Taverns location.
The Imaginarium "will invent and concoct beers with exotic flavor profiles – while also serving up fan favorites," according to the release. The location will have four or five of its core beers on tap, followed by a rotating list of 20 to 25 experimental beers exploring different styles, ingredients, and brewing techniques. The Imaginarium will also use lactose in some beers to create milk stouts, fruit and cream sours and milkshake IPAs. The plan is to complement the beers with small plates from rotating kiosks or pop-up stations.
Three Taverns, which launched its first brewery in Decatur in 2013, will use Square Feet Studios to design the new location, with a focus on "the scientific world of centuries past: laboratories, apothecaries, and cabinets of curiosities, where collectors would proudly put their experiments and discoveries on display."

Three Taverns will join several other announced tenants at Atlanta Dairies including a cafe from THRIVE Farmers, Collier's Department Store, a music venue with a rooftop bar and a diner and barbecue restaurant.

In addition, The Yard will offer an acre of outdoor space for customers to drink and play games.
