Common Quarter in Marietta is closing to make way for a second Muss & Turner's location.

The last day of business for Common Quarter , located at 1205 Johnson Ferry Road, will be Feb. 4, and Muss & Turner's will open in the space in March, according to Unsukay Concepts, which owns both restaurants.

The second Muss & Turner's will operate on the same model as its Smyrna counterpart, which is located at 1675 Cumberland Parkway SE, featuring counter service during the day and table service at night. The staff of Common Quarter has been offered positions at the new restaurant. In addition, an enclosed bar area will offer full table service during the day and at night. The original Muss & Turner's has been open since 2005, and Common Quarter opened in 2013.

"While Common Quarter is beloved by many, at the end of the day, the restaurant was ultimately the vision and DNA of ex-partner Chris Talley's ," said Muss & Turner's co-founder and Unsukay partner, Ryan Turner in a press release. "Though Common Quarter was a fantastic restaurant, we also saw an exciting opportunity for us to grow Muss & Turner's and bring the East Cobb community a unique concept unlike anything in their area – a chef-driven, flex-casual restaurant."

The owners indicated that changes would be coming when they announced this past fall that Chris Talley, one of the restaurant's four operating partners who also served as its general manager, was separating from the partnership with plans to seek a career outside the restaurant industry.

During its last weeks of operation, Common Quarter will serve up a “Greatest Hits Menu” curated by Common Quarter Executive Chef Jeffrey Gardner, who will leave Unsukay Partners after the restaurant's closure to spend time with his family and travel. Co-owner Todd Mussman will take an active role in the Muss & Turner kitchen, while co-founder Ryan Turner will be active in the restaurant's beverage program. Smyrna General Manager Curt Hummel will oversee both locations.

Unsukay Concepts also owns Local Three in Atlanta and Eleanor's, a speakeasy inside the Smyrna Muss & Turner's location.
