The first restaurant in the Alpharetta City Center development is now open.

Described as “an eclectic neighborhood restaurant and bar,” Restaurant Holmes will feature an often-changing lunch and dinner menu of salads, small plates and entrees made with local ingredients from Levity Farms in Milton, with highlights on the dinner menu including Tepache Glazed Shishito Peppers and Bone Marrow Toast.

The restaurant will be open for dinner only at first, with lunch service to come.

Sam Schlif, previously of Local Three and Seed Kitchen & Bar, will lead the bar program, which features six cocktails prepared with ingredients made in-house, eight draft beers on tap including a rotating tap from Variant Brewing Company in Roswell, as well as a wine list including 15 red wines, 12 white wines and a handful of reserve wines.

Owner and executive chef Taylor Neary, a Roswell native, previously worked in the kitchens at Ford Fry restaurants  St. Cecilia and Marcel , as well as Stoney River Grill, Buckhead Life Group's Kyma, Roux on Canton, Little Alley Steak and Opulent.

The restaurant is located in The Jones House, a historic building and former residence built in 1915 and preserved by Alpharetta City Center. The 60-seat restaurant -- which will also feature a covered porch and patio -- will boast leather banquettes, dark tile, and design features including murals by local artist Greg Mike . There will also be a semi-private room off the main dining room for special events.

Alpharetta City Center, a 26-acre mixed-use district , is adding six blocks to Alpharetta's downtown historic district, according to Cheri Morris, president of developer Morris & Fellows.

The restaurant area, known as The Gardens , features individual buildings scattered through three city blocks of parks and greenspace. Its 11 restaurants, all with outdoor dining patios, porches, rooftop or gardens, will open from June 2018 through March 2019.
