The owners of corn dog eatery Pallookaville are set to open a new pub concept in the space next month.
Pallookaville, which closed its doors in November at 17 N. Avondale Road in Avondale Estates, will reopen in January as The Stratford Pub, Decaturish reports.
Owners James Maggard, who, with Jason Hylton, bought Pallookaville in early 2016 from former owner Jim Stacy, said Stratford will be a "family friendly pub" with a menu similar to Maggard and Hylton's Local No. 7 in Tucker. The pair also owns Matador Cantina in Oakhurst.
"Part of the problem," Maggard told the AJC in November about Pallookaville, "is we couldn't figure out how to do somebody else's concept. I still love the space and we're going to sit on it for a while. We may keep it and do something different or, more than likely, we'll hand it off to somebody else. I really feel this can be a neighborhood bar or sports bar-type place."
The Stratford Pub will host a meet and greet on Jan. 1 and will officially open on Jan. 3.
