A memorial service for Angus Brown is planned for today, Jan. 9. The service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Philip, located at 2744 Peachtree Road N.W., in Buckhead.
The young chef was the co-owner of 8Arm and Octopus Bar. His now shuttered fine-dining concept Lusca, which he launched in 2014 with business partner Nhan Le, was a James Beard Foundation award semifinalist for Best New Restaurant.
Brown is predeceased by his father, George Brown, IV. He is survived by his mother, Terry Walker Brown, his sisters, Mackenzie Brown Bartlett and Terry Henegar Carlton Brown, and his brothers, George “Fiver” Brown V and Walker Fordham Brown.
In lieu of flowers, Brown's family is requesting that donations be made to the Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance grants for Atlanta-area restaurant workers facing hardship.
