Marietta has a reason to perk up this week with the opening of a new coffee shop.

Perks Coffee, which opened this week at 3000 Windy Hill Road SE, offers a variety of coffee drinks including iced coffee with roasted coffee ice cubes and café glacé, as well as 15 types of herbal teas. The coffee shop partnered with Rev Coffee in nearby Smyrna to create its own coffee blends.

Food offerings include bagels, pastries and oatmeal, with salads and sandwiches to come.

Perks owners Jamshid Panahi is no stranger to coffee -- he has also owned and operated two Caribou Coffee locations at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for the past decade, along with managers Jose Delpino and Samantha Anderson.

Perks is open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
