Madre + Mason to re-open in new space today, Urban Cannibals to follow

They're baaaack!

Latin-Southern fusion spot Madre + Mason, which closed earlier this year, will re-open tonight in the space formerly occupied by gourmet grocery store Urban Cannibals at 366 5th St. in Midtown, according to the Urban Cannibals Facebook page.

Madre + Mason will open for Taco Tuesday at 5 p.m., with a menu that will also feature several dishes from the spots' previous menu, as well as a full bar and kids menu. The space will offer two dining rooms and a dog-friendly patio, complete with "yappetizers" for pups.

Urban Cannibals, which closed its doors late last year, will return to the building as a brunch pop-up on the weekends, with dishes including the brunch burger, stuffed French toast, vegan tofu scramble and housemade biscuits and gravy. The store's Two Chicks Menu and classic sandwiches such as the carnitas po'boy and the urban reuben will be available starting Saturday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m.

Both Madre + Mason and Urban Cannibals are owned and operated by couple Doria Roberts and Calavino Donati, who also own Tipple & Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary in Virginia-Highland.

The space vacated by Madre + Mason at 560 Dutch Valley Road NE in Atlanta is now occupied by Indian restaurant Jai Ho.
