Jay Swift taking over the kitchen at The Iberian Pig in Decatur


The chef who garnered acclaim with his own metro Atlanta restaurants is now working for another established eatery.

Jay Swift -- who owned the now-shuttered 4th & Swift in Old Fourth Ward and helped open Noble Fin in Peachtree Corners -- has been named executive chef at tapas restaurant The Iberian Pig in Decatur,

The restaurant, which opened at 121 Sycamore St. since 2009, serves a wide variety of tapas and has an extensive selection of imported cheeses and cured meats, including jamon Iberico. The restaurant's beverage program features a large selection of regional wines, sherry and cocktails such as the “Iberian Old Fashioned” featuring bacon-infused rye whiskey.

Under Swift's direction, "dishes will continue to evolve seasonally and mainstay items will continue to be served," according to a press release.

A Baltimore native, Swift spent time in kitchens across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions including Washington D.C., Maryland, Boston and New York City before landing in Atlanta, where he took over the kitchen at South City Kitchen. He opened 4th & Swift in 2008, and seafood spot Noble Fin in 2016.

Iberian Pig is owned by Castellucci Hospitality Group, which also owns Cooks & Soldiers , Sugo and Double Zero , as well as the recently opened Krog Street Market restaurants Bar Maercado and Recess, There is also an Iberian Pig at Mercedes-Benz Stadium , and another location is slated to open in Buckhead.
