'iPad-driven' pizza restaurant, event space to open near Mercedes-Benz stadium

A popular pizza restaurant with a high-tech vibe has closed its doors in West Midtown, with plans to relocate on Northside Drive near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium next year.

Do (pronounced "dough") which serves "musically-inspired pizza," according to its website, closed at 955 W. Marietta St. near King Plow Arts Center on Saturday night after being open since 2011. The spot -- which gives customers iPads to order food and drinks, as well as have their car brought to the front of the restaurant by the valet at the end of the meal -- is set to reopen in a 3-acre property at 517 Jones Ave., less than a mile from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in spring 2018.

The building faces Northside Drive, but the front door currently faces Jones Ave currently. The address will be changed to a Northside Drive address during construction.

In addition to Do, the building will feature two 10,000-square-foot event spaces with video mapping technology, sound and lighting and a rooftop event space.

Owners Christian and Nacasha Ruffin -- who also own production company One Stop Productions, which will be housed in the same building -- have plans to open Bytes Restaurant on Spring Street in the Square on Fifth building.
