Here are the stories that made a splash in the Atlanta food world this week.

Hen Mother Cookhouse is now open at 11705 Jones Bridge Road in Johns Creek.

The breakfast, lunch and brunch spot is owned and operated by Soraya Khoury, who took over the space formerly occupied by Farmhouse Coffee and Cafe, What Now Atlanta reported.

The menu will feature about 20 seasonal dishes including a house-cured gravlax plat, omelets, gluten-free cornmeal pancakes and homemade baked goods including biscuits and bialys.

The restaurant offers outdoor seating and is dog friendly.

Hen Mother Cookhouse is open 7 a.m.-2:30 Tuesday-Thursday and 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

New York-based poké eatery The PokéSpot will open its first Atlanta restaurant May 24 in downtown Atlanta at 200 Peachtree St. NE. PokéSpot is owned by college friends Russell Yam and Jack Liang, who previously worked in finance. The menu offer traditional poké such as ahi tuna, salmon and shrimp with additional options including avocado, zucchini noodles and snow crab, and a variety of sauces such as Wasabi Shoyu and Citrus Ponzu. The beverage selection includes Hawaiian and Japanese soft drinks. PokéSpot will serve lunch and dinner daily.

Julien Gobin has been promoted from manager to assistant general manager of Atlas. He previously worked as assistant general manager at Brio Tuscan Grill and has also worked at restaurants in Hungary, South Carolina and Georgia.

Simon Young has been named as executive chef at South City Kitchen Buckhead. Young, who has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years, previously worked in restaurants in Chicago, Key West, Tennessee and West End, Ga. South City Kitchen Buckhead is owned by Fifth Group Restaurants, which also owns other South City Kitchen locations, La Tavola Trattoria, Ecco, The Original El Taco, Alma Cocina and Lure
