Get a start on holiday shopping, eat brunch and mix drinks in a Midtown class and more in metro Atlanta

Now through Nov. 10: Seed Kitchen & Bar is serving an anniversary three-course meal with options such as Jonah crab toast with brioche, avocado and cured egg yolk; Maple Leaf Farms duck breast; braised lamb shank; rum raisin bread pudding; and more for $39.95. A portion of the proceeds benefit Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit dedicated to eradicating childhood hunger.

Wednesday, Nov. 8: Join Jamie DeMent, author of the cookbook, "The Farmhouse Chef: Recipes & Stories from My Carolina Farm" for a book signing and dinner at Saltyard at 6:30 p.m. DeMent is the co-owner of Piedmont Restaurant in Durham, N.C. and Bella Bean Organics online farmers market. Chef Nick Leahy will prepare a family-style menu inspired by the book including chicken liver pate with seasonal jam, pickles and brioche; seared honey citrus scallops; and buttermilk roasted Springer Mountain chicken. A seat at the table will be $42 with optional wine pairings; copies of the cookbook will be available for purchase as well. The latter makes a great gift.

Sunday, Nov. 12: Join the Bar Margot team for a scotch cocktail class using Johnnie Walker from 12:30-2 p.m. The event will include traditional Sunday brunch and two cocktails. Tickets, which are $85, may be purchased here.

Throughout November: Bar manager Brendan McMackin of Peach and The Porkchop will offer an Old-Fashioned series featuring a new cocktail every Thursday through Sunday evening. This week's drink will be Figs on Fire made with J. Reiger & Co. whiskey, house-made smoked mission fig syrup, bitter truth Jerry Thomas decanter bitters and 18.21 apple cardamom shrub.
