Get ready to chow down, Midtown -- Tech Square is getting a 'chef-driven' food hall

If you've been looking for more dining options in Midtown, we've got good news and bad news.

The good news: The Collective is set to open as part of the Coda mixed-use development at 771 Spring St. The project will include eight to 10 "chef-driven, unique eateries featuring a sampling of cuisines from across the world with communal seating areas opening up into a 20,000 square-foot outdoor 'living room,'" according to a press release.

In addition, the three-story Crum & Forster building on the property will serve as an 8,000 square-foot, full-service restaurant with patio seating.

The bad news? The project isn't set to open until February 2019.

When it does open, The Collective's prospective food offerings could include health food including salad, grain bowls and smoothies; international street food including Middle Eastern, Mexican, Asian and Indian; and staples such as pizza and coffee. Thirsty? A full-service central bar will allow customers to take advantage of Coda's open carry permitting.

Developer Portman Holdings is working with architects designing the project, while SRS Real Estate Partners is working on restaurant leasing.

The Collective will be the latest food hall concept to come to Midtown -- in addition to Ponce City Market , the food hall that started it all, mini food hall Canteen, featuring Yalla and Fred's Meat and Bread, opened earlier this year.
