The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, which rebranded as The Whitley in December, has named a new executive chef and provided details about its new restaurant.

Marc Suennemann is managing culinary operations for the 507-room hotel, overseeing the culinary team and overseeing Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Trade Root, which is set to open next month.

Suennemann previously served as the executive chef for the Emory Conference Center Hotel and also served as executive Chef of Sheraton Atlanta and Château Élan in Braselton.

Hugh Acheson, who just opened Achie's at the Omni Hotel at The Battery , will sign his new book "The Chef & The Slow Cooker" from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at Ponce City Market's Atlanta Gallery Colletive. The $30 ticket includes a copy of the cookbook and 5x7 photo from Erik Tanner's James Beard portrait series. Buy tickets here.
