Intown fans of popular Malaysian street food restaurant Food Terminal soon won't have to travel to Buford Highway anymore to get their fix.

Real estate company The Schumacher Group announced it sold the space previously occupied by pizza eatery The Local Pizzaiolo at 1000 Marietta St. in West Midtown to the family that owns Food Terminal. The Local Pizzaiolo had been open since January 2018; another location in Toco Hill is currently for lease.

Food Terminal has received plenty of accolades since it opened in 2017 at 5000 Buford Highway, including a three-star review from the AJC and being named to Thrillist's list of best restaurants of 2017.

In addition to Food Terminal, Amy Wong and Howie Ewe also own Asian bakery chain Sweet Hut and the Top Spice restaurant group.

The Food Terminal menu includes items such as poached, bone-in Hainanese Chicken and Cheese’ N Cheese, a tomato-braised fried rice combo, loaded with egg, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, bacon, grilled spam, corn, red and spring onions, shallots, and bell peppers served in a hot cast-iron bowl.
