On June 1, Whole Foods Market will open free-standing restaurant The Roast adjacent to its location on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Midtown.

While we've known for several months that the Whole Foods Midtown would be debuting a new restaurant this year , the upscale grocery store is now revealing the type of food the restaurant will be serving.

Roast, a fast-casual churrasco, will feature a Brazilian menu with a build-your-own bowl option offering a choice of protein, sauteed greens, grains and sauces, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, Quentin Arndt, Whole Foods Market South region prepared foods coordinator, told Atlanta Magazine. The menu is set to change seasonally, and the bar menu will feature beer, wine, soda and cocktails. Roast is set to open in May,

Located at 650 Ponce de Leon Ave., Midtown Place is across Ponce de Leon Avenue from the massively popular Ponce City Market , and adjacent to the Beltline, the economic engine for dozens of construction projects. Whole Foods has expanded into space once occupied by Staples office supplies next door, adding nearly 5,000 square feet.
