Atlanta doesn't exactly abound with Filipino dining options. However, this weekend brings a couple opportunities to taste the flavors of the Philippines.

On April 28 and 29, Filipino culinarian Yana Gilbuena will bring her roving Salo Series pop-up dinner to Atlanta. On both evenings, guests will enjoy a kamayan feast, a communal-style meal eaten by hand rather than with utensils .

The April 28 event will take place at the Spindle, located at 659 Auburn Avenue, in the Old Fourth Ward.

The April 29 dinner will be held at 200 Pearl Street, in Cabbagetown. The meal will be prepared in collaboration with local talent Sarah Dodge, the former baker for 8Arm, and chef Julia Schneider, previously Octane Coffee's catering and kitchen manager.
