Even the kitchen sink is for sale at Brio

One Italian chain restaurant's loss could be your gain.

The Brio Tuscan Grille location at 2964 Peachtree Road NW in Buckhead closed its doors earlier this month, and everything in the restaurant is up for auction through 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Items start at $1 and have no reserves. Depending on how competitive the auction gets, winning bidders could walk away with furniture, fixtures and professional-grade kitchen equipment for well below retail value, resulting in "the Wild West of online auctions," according to a restaurantequipment.bid press release.

A restaurantequipment.bid representative said the company is also handling the auction of items when the Brio location at 700 Ashwood Pkwy. in Dunwoody closes on Sept. 17.

Over 60 restaurants in Atlanta closed in 2016 alone, flooding the market with used equipment for other restaurant operators to cash in on. Restaurant equipment at auction can go for pennies on the dollar. A gas stove that sells for $8,000 new might sell for $500 on the auction block plus $500 for shipping. Even if buyers aren’t local and need to have their items shipped, they are still ahead of the game. With the ever-present possibility of restaurant failure, operators are seeing the value of purchasing used equipment at auction to lower their capital expenditures.

RestaurantEquipment.bid is the Wild West of online auctions. All items start at $1.00 and have no reserves; everything must sell. After 30 years of business, RestaurantEquipment.bid has helped thousands of operators source and sell equipment and supplies. Through our enduring relationships with global chains, independent operators, manufacturers and distributors, we sell restaurant equipment and supplies at tremendous value.

The approximately 9,000 square foot restaurant in Buckhead Centre at 2964 Peachtree Road opened in 2000. The Bravo BRIO restaurant group plans to close at least six restaurants this year.
