Eat and party in Atlanta: open bar party, ugly Christmas sweater celebration, more

Ugly sweater party. Holiday hum along. Half-priced wine. There will be lots of food and fun happening around metro Atlanta this week, so add one or all four of the following events to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time.

Wednesday, Dec. 7: ASW Distillery will host a release Resurgens Rye party from 7-9 p.m. at Local Three . The celebration will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, Resurgens tasting plus a cocktail of choice for guests who RSVP to Reservations are limited. Guests who stay for dinner will also receive 10-percent off their meal as well as Resurgens drink specials.

Thursday, Dec. 8: Enjoy holiday cheer with an open bar from 8-10 p.m., a raffle prize and hum along to holiday tunes from DJ Moon all night long during Hand in Hand’s holiday party. Be sure to bring some non-perishable staples for the Atlanta Community Food Bank food drive too.

Sunday, Dec. 11: ‘Tis the season for ugly Christmas sweaters, holiday revelry and lots of delicious food and drink and The Southern Gentleman will be celebrating all during its second anniversary party. The festivities will include complimentary appetizers from 4-6 p.m.; complimentary desserts from 7:30-9 p.m.; plus $5 drafts and $6 specialty cocktails available for purchase throughout the party. Guests who bring in eight cans of non-perishable food items will receive a complimentary drink. Rounding out the fun will be a photo booth and live music.

Sunday, Dec. 11: Experience Spain in Buckhead with $6 specialty cocktails and half-priced bottles of wine beginning 5 p.m. at Gypsy Kitchen Basque Sundays. Menu items may include crispy sunchokes with romesco, chorizo with local fall squash smear and Brussels salad with shaved Manchego. Wear your dancing shoes too; there will be live flamenco music from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Basque Sunday is slated to occur every Sunday.
