$10 cocktail class, oysters and wine event in Alpharetta and more in metro Atlanta this week

$10 cocktail class. Bowling fundraiser for pets. There are several fun, food events happening in Atlanta, so add one or all four of the following activities to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time.

Thursday, Sept. 14: Here are 10 reasons to visit Milton's Cuisine & Cocktails : eight oysters and two full glasses of sparkling wine during the Sips and Shells event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets, which are $35, can be purchased here.

Friday, Sept. 15: Double Zero will celebrate its first anniversary (again) along with the birthday of George Gavin Brown IV, Chairman of the Board for Brown-Forman, which produces Old Forester, Woodford Reserve and Jack Daniels. Special offerings include $10 cocktail classes at 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. plus drink specials beginning at 6 p.m. and bourbon flight specials at the bar.

Sunday, Sept. 17: The Optimist  and  Arches Brewing  will team up to present Oktoberfest at the Optimist from 1-4 p.m. To kick off the first weekend of the annual celebration, chef Pat Pascarella will grill German-inspired dishes on the patio; one-time-only cask ale will be specially brewed for this event as well. A la carte specials will include shrimp Nuremburg with sauerkraut and beer mustard ($9); octopus boudin ($10) and shaved catfish kabob ($9). Rounding out the festivities will be live music and patio games.

Sunday, Sept. 17: Comet Pub and Lanes will host Pins & Pints for Pets, an event to raise money for the Houston Humane Society in partnership with Wild Heaven Beer, Brooklyn Brewery and Georgia Crown. Beginning at 4 p.m., guests will be able to purchase tickets that include three games of bowling, shoe rental and two drink tickets valid for either a Brooklyn Defender IPA from Brooklyn Brewery or a Bestie Pub Ale from Wild Heaven Beer. Comet Pub and Lanes will donate $15 from each ticket sold directly to the Houston Humane Society. Additionally, select drinks will be $5. Click here for additional details.
