Cocktail-centered restaurant closes its doors in Midtown

A popular spot for cocktails and bites closed its doors in Midtown over the weekend, just shy of three years after it opened.

Grain, which was located at 856 W. Peachtree St., addressed the closure on its Facebook page:

The spot opened in December 2014 with Seven Lamps chef Drew Van Leuvan and barman Kevin Bragg behind the food and drinks, respectively. The menu featured oysters on the half shell, hanger steak tartare and "nitro-salted" caramel corn served smoking in a paper cone, edible cocktails such as mezcal-flavored Asian pears and custom cocktails including the Blooming Hill, made with gin, lemongrass, ginger, lime and basil, as well as beer and wine.

Restaurateur and owner Billy Streck also owns and operates Cypress Street Pint and Plate in Midtown and Hampton + Hudson in Inman Park.
