Celebrate Mardi Gras 2018 at these metro Atlanta restaurants


New Orleans is a short flight from Atlanta, but if you're not able to make the trip to Mardi Gras central this year, there are plenty of places in metro Atlanta to celebrate Fat Tuesday (Feb. 13) with drinks and food.

 

 

Atkins Park: Look for $1 king cake slices and a day-long procession of food and drink specials. Customers finding a tiny baby in their king cake slice will receive a $20 Atkins Park gift card.

Big Easy Grille: There'll be two opportunities to celebrate at this Mardi Gras-themed restaurant, which is hosting crawfish boils on Feb. 10 and 13 with food and drink specials, beads and live music.

Big Tex: The Tex-Mex restaurant will host a family-friendly party starting at 5 p.m. with beads and other parade float items, Hurricane drink specials, a jambalaya plate and live music from Cajun zydeco band Hair of the Dog starting at 7:30 p.m.

Hugo's Oyster Bar: Every Tuesday, the eatery offers Mardi Gras-friendly deals and dishes including $1 oysters on the half shell, NOLA BBQ shrimp for $14.95 and crawfish or boudin balls for $8.95, as well as $3 Abita beers and $8 Hurricanes. The restaurant also offers live music from 7-9 p.m.

Louisiana Bistreaux: Celebrate starting at 11 a.m. with creole dishes including jambalaya, gumbo, oysters, king cake and beignets as well as live music from 8up Dixie Band from 6-9 p.m.at drinks, masks and beads.

Serpas True Food: The Old Fourth Ward spot is offering a traditional, New Orlean’s influenced menu including crawfish pie, seafood gumbo and king cake starting at 5:30 pm along with masks, beads, Hurricanes and music from Atlanta singer Francisco Vidal. To cap off the festivities, staff and guests traditionally break out into The Second Line around the dining room at the end of the evening.
