Brewed to Serve Restaurant Group, Inc., the restaurant company behind Atlanta's Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery, White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails and Richards’ Southern Fried, is set to open The Bold Monk, "a brewery, restaurant and beer garden to be located in a 12,000 square foot space in Third & Urban’s Complex West Midtown project at the corner of Ellsworth Industrial and Chattahoochee Avenue on the west side of Atlanta."

Designed by ASD|SKY, The Bold Monk interior will feature an eclectic mix of stone, wood, concrete and steel that will "create a contemporary representation of the monastic breweries of Belgium," according to the announcement.

Max Lager's award-winning brewmaster, John “JR” Roberts, a Partner in Brewed to Serve and a past Vice President of the Georgia Brewers’ Guild, designed the brewery and will be developing the beer and beverage program.

“I have experienced a lot brewing over the past twenty years, and with a recent collaboration brew in Ireland, the creation of a cask room at Max Lager’s, and the growing willingness of Georgians to experiment with different beer styles, I have designed a brewery that will give me the flexibility to brew and bottle beers that will represent the evolution of the American craft beer movement,” Roberts said in the announcement.
