These are the dining stories that created a buzz in metro Atlanta this week:

Dessert shop Beard Papa's is set to open its first Georgia location in Peachtree Corners early next year. The store will be located in Peachtree Corners Town Center, What Now Atlanta reports, and will serve a variety of flavors of cream puffs including vanilla, chocolate, green tea and honey butter.

•New York chain Mamoun's Falafel announced it will open its first Atlanta location in the West Midtown Center between 17th Street and Northside Drive, next year. It's one of six planned locations in metro Atlanta and Athens.   Founded by Syrian immigrant Mamoun Chater 45 years ago in New York, Mamoun's serves up traditional Middle Eastern dishes including falafel, shawarma and baba ganoush in the United States. Now operated by Mamoun's sons, the restaurant has locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The Georgia Mamoun's locations will be overseen by franchisees Kalki Patel and Parimal Patal.

•Build-your-own salad chain Chopt, which entered the Atlanta market earlier this year with its first location in Toco Hill, is set to open its second next week at 3655 Roswell Road. The restaurant will sponsor Chopt Gives Back day on Nov. 14, offering customers who make a monetary donation to The Giving Kitchen from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. a free salad. Regular business hours will begin on Nov. 15. A third location is set to open in Atlanta next year.

•New York-based Middle Eastern food chain The Halal Guys is slated to open its second metro Atlanta location next week. The eatery, which will open Nov. 16 at Modera Midtown at 95 8th St. NW, will host a grand opening party from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. featuring live entertainment and giveaways. One dollar for every platter and sandwich purchased on the day of the event will be donated to the American Red Cross in support of their Hurricane Michael relief efforts.

•Brad Morris has been named the chef for Hazel Jane's Wine Bar & Coffee on the Eastside Beltline and Nick Anderson will serve as chef for SweetWater Brewing's new taproom and kitchenEater Atlanta reports. Both concepts are set to open next year.

A large hole in the sidewalk has delayed tonight's planned grand opening of Olive Bistro at 1075 Peachtree St. in Midtown to next week, What Now Atlanta reports.

Irby's Tavern in Buckhead is now serving lunch starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday-Friday, with dishes including a Steak Sammie, Georgia Farmer's Salad and Irby's Wings.

Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar in Marietta is now serving lunch from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and next week will start serving an updated dinner menu with customizable options nightly starting at 3 p.m. Menu options include the Clam Shack lunch, crispy fish tacos, mussels and fries and the Shrimp Cobb salad.
