Game Thread: LeBron out vs. Hawks

Cavaliers star LeBron James has been ruled out of tonight’s game against the Hawks. James, who turned 30 today, will miss the game with left knee soreness.

Cavaliers coach David Blatt said James is day-to-day.

“We are going to hold him out,” Blatt said. “It’s going back to Miami (Christmas Day). If you remember he jumped over the bench after a long bounce pass. It’s been sore. It’s been bothering him.”

Shawn Marion will also miss the game with a left ankle sprain.

In missing James, Blatt said the Cavaliers will obviously have to make adjustments.

“It has to when you are missing a player of the magnitude of LeBron and the multitude of things he does, that requires an adjustment,” Blatt said. “And also, you recognize that you are not going to have certain things. You make up for that with proper play, with grit, with attitude and with guys stepping up and giving a little more.”
