PHILADELPHIA -- The 3-pointers are starting to fall for Pero Antic.
The stretch-5 struggled early in the season from long range. Through his first 24 games, Antic was just 19 of 65 (.292) on his 3-point attempts. However, in the past four games the center has made 9 of 16 (.563) from behind the arc. He has at least one 3-pointer in his past 11 games. Antic was 3 of 5 from 3-point range in Sunday’s win over the Wizards.
What has been the difference?
“We’ve talked about him taking better shots,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said Tuesday morning before the Hawks took on the 76ers. “He is such a good passer and he can keep the offense moving. I think, maybe, slightly better shots have helped him make a better percentage. He is using his legs and getting the ball up. You feel like when (the ball) leaves his hands it looks good. I think his conditioning is in a good place. He is confident. I don’t think it’s any one thing. It’s a combination of little things.”
In his past four games, Antic is averaging 12.0 points. He set and matched his season-high of 13 points in back-to-back games against the Clippers and Grizzlies.
