5 things we learned from the Falcons offseason program today

FLOWERY BRANCH — Fullback Partick DiMarco and defensive end/linebacker Vic Beasley spoke to the media after the Falcons’ offseason workout on Wednesday.

Here are five things we learned:

1. Beasley going to SLB. Vic Beasley who played defensive end last season will play some strongside linebacker in the base defense. Falcons coach Dan Quinn previously told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Beasley would be going to linebacker. It was Beasley’s first acknowledgement of the move.

2. Covering tight ends. Beasley is  confident that he can cover tight ends man-to-man and that he can drop in the pass coverage.

3, Mack is a genius. DiMarco had high praise for center Alex Mack. He called him a ‘genius’ who’ll help the offensive line grow tighter.

4. Sleep depraved. DiMarco is the proud father of the three-month old Westin. He said that youngster has started to sleep through the night.

5. Beasley’s counter moves. Beasley said that he’s been watching tapes of Von Miller’s pass-rushing moves.
