5 things we learned about the Falcons this week

One week down and five to go over the NFL’s slow period.

The Falcons report for training camp on July 27.

Here are the five things we learned about the Falcons this week:

1. On the hot seat.  Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff admitted that he’s on the hot seat this season.

2. Pacific Rim visit. Falcons coach Dan Quinn, linebacker Vic Beasley, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, kicker Matt Bryant and linebacker Paul Worrilow went to Guam and Hawaii on a United Services Organizations (USO) tour.

3. Man in the mirror. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is using mirrors to work on his footwork. Ryan chronicled his footwork issues during a film session with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Jeff Schultz. Also, quarterback coach Matt LaFleur discussed Ryan’s footwork.

4. Falcons on youtube. The NFL will upload full network broadcasts of 3 games for each NFL team. Fans can vote for their favorite games by visiting NFL.COM/YOUTUBEGAMES . Voting is currently open and will run through early next week. Falcons fans can vote on the following games:

- 2012: Bryant’s Kick Completes OT Playoff Win vs. Seattle

- 1998: The Kick That Sent the Falcons to the Super Bowl

- 2002: Stunning the Packers at Lambeau Field in NFL Wild Card

- 2010: OT Win Over Super Bowl Champ Saints in New Orleans

- 1983: Hail Mary to White Shoes for the Win

The five games were chosen in collaboration with NFL Films and the Falcons.

 5. The Mercedes-Benz tour. Toured the stadium on Thursday. We understand that the press box is going to be pretty high. Will need some higher powered binoculars. Check out the video.
