FLOWERY BRANCH – With dust starting to settle around the Falcons' 8-8 season, it was a busy week of the offseason for the team.

Here are the five things we learned:

1. VITAL ELECTS TO LEAVE: The remaking of the scouting department started as director of player personnel Lionel Vital elected to leave the team and not accept a demotion.

2. TERRY ROBISKIE NAMED TITANS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR: Falcons wide receiver coach Terry Robiskie was named the new offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans. He was reunited with former Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey.

3. CONSTRUCTION BEHIND SCHEDULE: The construction for Mercedes-Benz Stadium is behind schedule and that was detailed in an AJC exclusive from our Tim Tucker. The target for opening was pushed back to June 1, 2017, affecting new soccer team.

4. MORGAN HONORED: Falcons offensive line coach Chris Morgan was named the league's offensive line coach of the year by

5A. JULIO JONES NAMED ALL-NFL, ALL-NFC BY PFWA: Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who was nearly unstoppable at times last season, was named to the All-NFL and All-NFC teams by the Pro Football Writers of America on Monday. Jones, who was in his fifth-year in the NFL, caught 136 passes for 1,871 yards and eight touchdowns as the Falcons finished 8-8.  He was the lone member of the Falcons to make the All-NFL and All-NFC teams. Jones is one of three players all-time to record 1,800-plus receiving yards in a single season and he is one of five Falcons players to record 1,800-plus yards from scrimmage in a single season (1,871).

5B. MANUEL OUT OF RUNNING IN JAX: The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to name Todd Wash as their defensive coordinator today. Falcons defensive backs coach Marquand Manuel interviewed for the position with the Jaguars.

NEXT WEEK: Most all of the teams personnel men will attend the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. Here are five players to watch. We're also expected to hear from coach Dan Quinn and possibly general manager Thomas Dimitroff. No one from the team has spoken to the local media since it was announced that the scouting department would be restructured.
