5 things to know before today's Bucs at Falcons kickoff

[cmg_cinesport url=""]

The Falcons are admittedly having some issues on offense. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s D. Orlando Ledbetter and CineSport’s Noah Coslov get in those details while previewing Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

Here are 5 things to mull over before today’s 1 p.m. kickoff between the Buccaneers (2-4) and the Falcons (6-1) at the Georgia Dome.

  1. Run Devonta Run. Devonta Freeman, who was named the NFC player of the month for October, leads the NFL with 931 scrimmage yards, 621 rush yards and 10 TDs (9 rush, 1 receiving.). In past 5 (1st 5 career starts), has 825 scrimmage yards (165 per game), 578 rush yards (115.6 per game) & 9 TDs (8 rush, 1 rec.)
  2. Julio Jones corner. Wide receiver Julio Jones has 36 catches for 674 yards (112.3 per game) and five touchdowns in six meetings. Had 9 catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns in in last home meeting. He lead the NFC with 58 catches.
  3. Shut down corner. Left cornerback Desmond Trufant has 39 passes defensed since entering NFL in 2013, most on club.
  4. Tackling leader. Middle linebacker Paul Worrilow leads the team with 48 tackles. He had an interception to stop a red-zone scoring threat last week against the Titans.
  5. Series matchup. This will be the 44th regular season meeting. The Falcons lead the series, 22-21 and have won three of the past four games. Last season, they dismantled the Bucs 56-14 at the Georgia Dome. Atlanta wont the last meeting 27-17.
