FLOWERY BRANCH -- After losing 26-24 to the Seattle Seahawks, the Falcons (4-2) are set to face the rested San Diego Chargers (2-4) at 4:05 Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Thursday:

1. Alford talk. Falcons defensive coordinator Richard Smith had a "man-to-man" talk with cornerback Robert Alford about his penalties.

2. Stadium update. Things are coming along at the new stadium, which has has more than $200 million in additions. 

3. Matthews' return. Defensive lineman Cliff Matthews is elated to return to the Falcons.

4. Coach Dan Quinn speaks. Here's what Falcons coach Dan Quinn had to say on Wednesday.

5.  Injury report:  Falcons wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (head), cornerback C.J. Goodwin (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday because of injuries that forced them to leave the loss at the Seahawks on Sunday.
