FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff met with the local media for the first time since owner Arthur Blank released a statement which stated that he would be retained on Thursday.

Here are five quick takes from the 32 minutes, 50 second press conference:

1. DISAPPOINTMENT: Dimitroff admitted that the 2012 draft was “highly disappointing.” None of the players from that class are on the team or even in the league.

2. BLUNDER ON KONZ: Dimitroff admitted that drafting Peter Konz in the second round of the 2012 draft was a “major blunder.”

3. TRUST LOST: Dimitoff admitted that while mistakes have been made over the past eight years that he hopes to win back the trust of the fan base.

4. TOO MANY COOKS?: Dimitroff doesn’t feel that by adding former general managers Phil Emery and Ruston Webster as national scouts that there will too many cooks in the kitchen.

5. WHAT'S THE VISION: Dimitroff believes that working with head coach Dan Quinn that team has a clear vision of the future, which includes chasing three-time NFC South champion Carolina. The Panthers are set to play in Super Bowl 50.
