FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons don't retire jersey numbers.

Only linebacker Jessie Tuggle has his number retired, according a team official.

The team does induct players into the Ring of Honor.

"The Atlanta Falcons organization doesn't officially retire jersey numbers, but considers certain player's jerseys worthy of being honored The Falcons Ring of Honor, which is featured in the rafters of the Georgia Dome, honors individual players and not jerseys."

Running back Gerald Riggs was the last to be inducted back in 2013. The group stands at nine strong for now.

Wide receiver Roddy White deserves the honor, while there will be a lot of debate over inducting quarterback Michael Vick. (BTW, there was some dissent around inducting Deion Sanders, too. Some thought he really wasn't a Falcon after bolting from the team at his first opportunity.)

Steve Hummer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has checked in and he wouldn’t put Vick in the Ring of Honor. He considers Vick the franchise’s third best quarterback behind Matt Ryan and Steve Bartkowski. Whenever Ryan retires, he should walk into the Ring of Honor the next day.

Others believe Vick should be forgiven for derailing/side-tracking the franchise with his early lack of dedication and federal dog-fighting guilty plea.

Tyler Dragon of All22.com believes that Vick should be forgiven and installed into the Ring of Honor.

Here’s his column on the matter.
