GREENSBORO – Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones recently laid claim to him and Roddy White being the top wide receiver tandem in the NFL.

Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson, arguably the best pure cornerback in the league, agreed with Jones before playing in the Celebrity Golf Classic at the Reynolds Plantation on Monday.

“The best duo in the NFL, I’d probably have to say that’s pretty accurate,” Peterson said. “Both of those guys are Pro Bowl caliber receivers, both of them are All-Pro caliber receivers. Both of them do a lot of good things for Matt Ryan to make his job a little easier. But to say they are the best tandem, I’d probably have to say that he’s probably right.”

Peterson is also a fan of Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the former Georgia Tech standout. Peterson said he’s the toughest player to defend.

“He’s just so big, fast, agile and he’s very quick,” Peterson said. “To be that big and move that well is unbelievable.”

Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians and his wife, Christine, through the Arians Family Foundation, hosted the second annual event to help children who’ve suffered from child abuse. Christine Arians worked as a family law attorney for years and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate to help ensure that children who are involved in the court system, as a result of neglect and abuse by their families, receive help.
