Hand-crafted in the spotlight starting Thursday night at Swan Coach House Gallery

The Swan Coach House Gallery is opening the fourth edition of its popular “Summer Swan Invitational,” showcasing contemporary Southern pottery and other hand-crafted objects. The opening reception is 6-9 p.m. June 5.

Getting star treatment this year are teachers and top students from prominent pottery studios at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center and Mudfire.

The show features hundreds of objects by more than 40 makers so that, unlike typical Swan Coach House exhibits, buyers can take their purchases home with them. As they do, new works are being put on view.

Among the artists selected by curator Marianne Lambert: John Beadles, Kevin Bennett, Jennie Ashcraft Berman, Ruby Bock,Thor Bueno, Keiko Coghlin, Martha Cook, Angela Cotton, Glenn Dair, Maria Dondero, Amandine Drouet, Tesa Dupre, Virginia Dupre, Lynn Durant, Lindsey Elsey, Alice Franklin, Anne Ginkel, Kathryne Gould, Cindy Grisdela, Erik Haagensen, Albert Hall, Linda Hall, Julie Hilliard, Roger Jamison, Benjamin Jones, Chris Kelly, Michael Klapthor, Kathrin Mattox, David Morgan, Connie Norman, Don Penny, Mario Petrirena, Donna Pollock, Dow Redcorn, Barry Rhodes, Masayuki Sasaki, Luba Sharapan, Connie Stockdale, Beth Tarkington, Gregor Turk, Ana Vizurraga, Celeste Williams, Alice Woodruff and Kathy Yancey.
