Cirque du Soleil announced on Monday that the touring show "Amaluna" is coming to Atlanta, opening Oct. 3 at Atlantic Station under its signature blue and yellow big top.

Inspired by Greek and Norse mythology among other sources, Cirque's 33rd production is described as "a celebration of love and a tribute to the work and voice of women."

The cast is 70 percent female, the band an all-women ensemble. Tickets for the open-ended run, already on sale for Cirque Club members (sign up for free at www.cirquedusoleil.com/cirqueclub), will be available to the public on June 23 via 1-800-450-1480, www.cirquedusoleil.com/amaluna.
