More than four decades after the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra first performed in Piedmont Park, the local symphony has announced plans to continue the tradition.
"A Performance in the Park," a free outdoor concert, will take place in the park on June 15. No tickets are required for this event. '
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform work from David Bowie, Tchaikovsky and more as a part of the show's "Sing and Dance" theme. Assistant conductor Joseph Young will lead the orchestra.

Bring food, drinks and a blanket to set up a picnic at Piedmont Park's Oak Hill for the concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Arrive early if you're hoping to have an unobstructed view of the stage.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has performed more than 100 concerts at Piedmont Park since 1976.
