News and notes from Hartsfield-Jackson, the world's busiest airport

UPDATED: Delta cancels 300 Friday flights due to Nor'easter

Delta Air Lines has canceled 300 flights scheduled for Friday due to weather in the northeast and New England.

Atlanta-based Delta said it planned to operate a reduced schedule at its hubs at New York's LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International airports, as it works to "reset" its flight operations in the region.

Travelers with New York flight bookings Friday should check their flight status and be aware of "challenging road conditions," Delta said, adding that the LaGuardia Link bus is free Friday.

Charleston International Airport was closed Friday due to snow on the runways, and Delta is allowing passengers with flights booked to, from or through Charleston Jan. 5-8 to change their flight schedules without paying certain change fees. Some Charleston flight cancellations continue Saturday morning, and Southwest and American canceled all their Charleston flights Friday and Saturday, according to the airport.
