Uber says it is launching a pilot project at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, allowing passengers to select their airline in the app when taking the ride-hailing service to the airport.
Doing so will “help riders have more accurate pricing” and estimated time of arrival, according to Uber. Passengers also won’t have to tell their driver what airline they’re flying once they get in the vehicle.
According to Uber, Hartsfield-Jackson is one of the first to get the feature in the Uber pilot project. Lyft already offers the option.
There are remote pick-up locations at the Atlanta airport for passengers taking Uber and Lyft from the airport, and the long walk to get to those Terminal South and Terminal North locations and wait times have irked many passengers.
But passengers taking an Uber or Lyft to the airport can be dropped off at the curbside next to their airline check-in area.
