Frontier Airlines launching Atlanta-Providence route

Frontier Airlines plans to launch flights from Atlanta to Providence, R.I. starting in April.

Denver-based Frontier, an ultra low-cost carrier, announced the new route as part of a broader announcement of 35 new routes with introductory fares starting at $29 each way.

Frontier also recently announced plans to start a new route from Atlanta to Colorado Springs starting April 8. That route will operate three days a week on Airbus A319 aircraft.

The ultra low-cost carrier charges extra for large carry-on bags as well as checked bags, and charges for in-flight beverages as well as food.
