Delta, Southwest add flights for college football playoff games

Coach Nick Saban will be seeking his sixth national title at Alabama and seventh overall.

Both Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines have added flights for the College Football Playoff games later this month.

Atlanta-based Delta said it has added more than 1,500 seats, with flights to and from Dallas/Fort Worth International and Miami International Airport.

Delta is adding service to DFW from Greenville-Spartanburg and its hub at New York's JFK Airport on Dec. 28 for the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas on Dec. 29, with flights back on Dec. 30.

Also aimed at Clemson and Notre Dame fans, Dallas-based Southwest is adding flights to Dallas Love Field from Greenville/Spartanburg and Chicago Midway on Dec. 28, with return flights on Dec. 30.

For the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Fla. where Alabama will play Oklahoma, Delta has additional service to Miami from Birmingham and Oklahoma City on Dec. 28, with flights back on Dec. 30.

Southwest is adding flights to Fort Lauderdale from Birmingham and Oklahoma City  on Dec. 28, with return flights on Dec. 30.
