Atlanta corporate giants Delta Air Lines and Coca-Cola Co. have partnered on an unusual art project -- on airplane tray tables.

The two companies worked with 12 artists around the world to transform the tray tables on a Boeing 767 into art. On that plane, the designs will be in place at all of the coach class and Comfort+ seats for about a month.

The tray table art will also be displayed on Concourse A at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Delta and Coke have been partners since 1927, with Delta serving Coca-Cola beverages on all of its flights. The companies worked with advertising firm Wieden+Kennedy New York on the art gallery.

Each artist was shipped a tray table to transform into a work of art, then sent it back to Wieden+Kennedy, according to Delta. The agency made high-resolution scans of the designs, then made multiple laminate copies of each design that were applied to the tray tables on the 767.
