Snow has stopped falling and started melting in many areas throughout metro Atlanta. But that could lead to another potential hazard for many residents.

“Widespread black ice” is possible early Sunday as the temperature is expected to fall to the mid-20s overnight, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said.

"A big concern I have is what melts this afternoon will refreeze overnight as temperatures plummet into the teens and 20s," Walls said.

Sunday’s high temperature is expected to hit 42 degrees, which should melt even more of the built-up snow.

“No hazardous weather” is expected Sunday and early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
