Showers in the metro area were few and far between Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean an end to storms just yet, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The rain has been east of Atlanta, with scattered showers popping up in Athens, Channel 2 reported.

Rain should continue Thursday, when there is a 30 percent chance with a high of 91, Channel 2 reported. Lows should be in the 70s.

A cold front is expected to enter the metro area Friday, bringing below-average temperatures, Channel 2 Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

A 60 percent chance of showers is expected Friday, lowering temps to the mid 80s. The average for this time of year is 89 degrees.

The temperature is 80 degrees in Atlanta and reached 92 degrees, passing the expected high of 91, Channel 2 reported.
