It’s a good day to skip out of town early for Memorial Day weekend, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Metro Atlanta’s in for “all around fantastic travel weather for today,” Channel 2 meteorologist Katie Walls said. “(Saturday) will be quite lovely as well.”

Currently, the temperature is 82 degrees.
“But it’s really the latter half of that holiday weekend that we will track the potential for showers and storms,” Walls said.
Highs are expected to reach 87 degrees Saturday and Sunday and 84 Monday, Channel 2 reported.
Then, “there is a weather system approaching that could give us some scattered showers over part of the far North Georgia mountains Saturday and then a little more into the metro area Sunday and Monday,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
There is a 30 percent chance of rain Sunday and a 40 percent chance Monday, according to the news station.
