There is a new unofficial name for the Auburn victory against Georgia, but it’s growing in usage, at least in the state of Alabama: “The Prayer in Jordan-Hare.”
Auburn players are still talking about it.
Center Jay Prosch: “I saw the tip and that it was still in Ricardo’s range, and I saw him reach out and tip it up to himself, and I was like, ‘Grab it, grab it,’ and he grabbed it. After that, I was like, ‘This is a joke. This is unreal. This isn’t happening.’ It was just amazing. I’ve never been on the field or been in a stadium and been able to see a play like that happen. It’s awesome.”
Georgia fans’ response: We beg to differ.

Although James Franklin will start for Missouri at Ole Miss, redshirt freshman Maty Mauk likely will play some. Coach Gary Pinkel said the amount won’t be decided until Thursday’s staff meeting.
Mauk won three games as Missouri’s starting quarterback while Franklin recovered from a sprained shoulder, and he won over his teammates.
“He’s a gutsy dude,” senior wide receiver L’Damian Washington said. “He’s back there improvising and making plays. He’s a great guy. You love to play with a guy like that who can create a play out of nothing.”
Mauk knows the difference between his first game and the most recent.
“The biggest thing is I got the game to slow down,” he said. “When I was thrown in there against Toledo, I came in and got two sacks on me. The game was faster then. And now that I’ve been in there playing a lot, it’s easier to go through reads. Everything’s just slowed way down, and that’s the biggest thing I’ve gained.”
S.C. CHANGES
South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said he won’t rest anyone who is healthy when his team plays FCS-foe Coastal Carolina on Saturday, but the Gamecocks will see a few different faces.
Sophomore tailback Shon Carson will get his first start as Mike Davis (Stephenson High) recovers from an ankle sprain. Spurrier also told backup quarterback Dylan Thompson he will get some snaps because the coach thinks starter Connor Shaw plays better when he knows his backup will get some playing time, even if he doesn’t know why.
