Michael Vick’s career advice to Colin Kaepernick: ‘Get a haircut’

Speaking on FS1’s “Speak for Yourself” show Monday night, reformed NFL star Michael Vick offered a suggestion to out-of-work quarterback Colin Kaepernick: Start repairing his image by cutting his hair.

"I'm not up here to try to be political correct but  -- even if he puts cornrows on it -- I don't think he should represent himself, in that way, in terms of hair style. Just go clean-cut," the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback told the panel discussing Kaepernick's unemployment following what some have called retribution for his national anthem protests last season.

“What he needs to do is just try to be presentable,” Vick offered.

The now retired Vick served nearly two years in prison over his role in a dogfighting operation while a member of the Falcons. He returned to the NFL playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Vick said perception is everything in the NFL and said he worked on those “image perceptions” regarding his appearance to ensure a return to the field.

Twitter had their thoughts on Vick’s suggestion:
