Georgia Tech (4-4, 3-3 ACC) will host Virginia Tech (7-2, 3-2) on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets and Hokies have each faced two of the conference’s best teams, Clemson and Miami. They went 0-4 against the Tigers and Hurricanes, which are ranked No. 4 and No. 7 respectively in the CFP standings.
Indicators of how Saturday’s game may go be can be taken from the key stats from those common opponents:
It seems that teams, at least those with a lot of talent, are able to run on the Hokies this season.
What’s interesting is why the Tigers and Hurricanes were able to run, they weren’t as successful as one might expect on third downs.
If Georgia Tech can create turnovers, and the Hokies do seem prone to giving away the ball, it seems the Yellow Jackets could spring the win.
