Russell Wilson, Josh McCown among Week 13 NFL Players of the Week


Week 13 was full of standout individual performances. Some of them were expected, while others were unforeseen. On Tuesday morning, the NFL announced the  Week 13 Players of the Week.

Among the biggest surprises of the week was Josh McCown, who led the New York Jets to a shocking 38-31 upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the NFC, potential NFL MVP front-runner Russell Wilson, turned in another outstanding performance in leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 24-10 upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Here is a look at the full list of Week 13 award winners.

McCown guided the Jets to a huge win over the Chiefs by completing 26-of-36 passes for 331 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 109.8. The 38-year-old quarterback also added two rushing touchdowns to keep the Jets alive in the AFC playoff race.

Weddle, a five-time All-Pro selection, turned in a dominant performance against the Detroit Lions in Week 13. He recorded a strip sack and an interception to help the Ravens to a 44-20 win.

Boswell had a perfect day for the Steelers in their come from behind 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. He connected on 3-of-3 field goal attempts and 2-of-2 extra point attempts. The former Rice Owl drilled a 38-yard game-winner as time expired.

Wilson continued to carry the Seahawks on his back in Week 13 against the Eagles. The 29-year-old quarterback completed 20-of-31 passes for 227 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 118.6, and he added 31 rushing yards on 6 carries.

Lowry won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award largely because of his 62-yard fumble return for a touchdown that helped propel the Packers to a critical 26-20 overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gould account for all of the 49ers scoring in their 15-14 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 13. The veteran kicker connected on 5-of-5 field goal attempts, including a game-winning 24-yarder with 4 seconds remaining in regulation.
